Label Description

Uniform label in all EU27 Member States; Coloured arrows differentiate energy efficient from lower energy efficient products: dark green indicates a highly efficient product and red a low efficient product. Additional energy classes: A+, A++, A+++ ; Supplier’s name or trademark and model identifier; Pictograms highlight selected performances and characteristics; Annual energy consumption in kWh. Depending on the appliance, the energy class strip and/or the pictograms can change.

EU energy efficiency labeling (Labelling Energy) content includes power consumption (sub A-G seven grades), model specifications, performance indicators, such as noise, water consumption, frozen stars, etc.A-class energy efficiency is the highest, G level energy efficiency lowest 7 grades respectively to strip (they are located on the left side of the labeling of energy) from top to bottom arrangement, a is located in the top, also the shortest; g row at the bottom, the longest, this arrangement said A-level consume less energy, G level energy consumption. The color shows the level of energy consumption. Another  meaning the color shows: G grade means dangerous (red) and A grade means environmentally friendly (green). As far as each specific product is concerned, a large black arrow  points to the level of the product on the right side.
For  larger household appliances, energy logo also includes the running index of products, such as refrigerators labeled annual power consumption (kWh / year said), product specifications, refrigerator freezers star. In addition, some countries of  the European community  require the noise of the refrigerator compressor should be displayed (in dB).

Implementation Background The EU energy label is designed to provide consumers with accurate, recognisable and comparable information on domestic household products regarding energy consumption, performance and other essential characteristics. It allows consumers to identify how energy efficient a product actually is and to assess a product’s potential to reduce energy costs. The label is uniform for all products in a given category. Consumers can compare easily the characteristics of appliances in a given category such as energy or water consumption, or capacity. All the information the label contains is based on test standards prescribed in the European Legislation. The label initially classified products from A to G, A being the most efficient energy class and G the least efficient. The freshly revised European legislation introduces classes up to A+++ to adapt to technological developments and to allow further product differentiation in terms of energy efficiency (see legal background section for further details).
