Label Description

In order to strengthen energy conservation, promote energy-saving technology and improve energy efficiency, according to "People's Republic of China Energy Conservation Law", "People's Republic of China Product Quality Law," "People's Republic of China Certification and Accreditation", the National Development and Reform Commission and State Administration of Quality administration formulated the "Energy efficiency labeling rules", and with effect from March 1, 2005 implementation. "People's Republic of China to implement energy efficiency labeling product catalog" is set to determine uniform application of energy efficiency standards, the implementation of the rules, energy efficiency logo styles and specifications. The products in the "Catolog" must label the energy efficiency obviously on the product or on the smallest package of the product, and declare the energy efficiency in the product description.

China Energy Label shows the energy efficiency rating of the product. The lower the product's energy efficiency rating, the product has higer energy efficiency and can achieve more energy saving. There are five level of energy efficiency rating:
Level 1 indicates the product reached the international advanced level, and has the lowest energy consumption;
Level 2 indicates the product's energy efficiency is higher than the industry's average in China;
Level 3 indicates the product's energy efficiency just reaches the average level;
Level 4 indicates that the product's energy efficiency is lower than the market average;
Level 5 is the market access criteria, product performs below this level does not allow to be sold.

The label shows the energy efficieny information in three ways:
1.The text of "low energy consumption", "medium energy consumption", "high energy consumption";
2.The number of the level;
3.The colour, green represents environmental friendly and energy saving, orange for warning, read for prhibition.
