| Implementation Background | Ministry of Mines and Energyhas the Responsibility for Colombia's energy efficiency program. The Primarily program was developed by two agencies, the Mining and Energy Planning Unit (UPME) and the Institute of Science Nuclear and Alternative Energies (INEA). The program is run by the Mining and Energy Planning Unit. It was launched in 2002 and the products need to implement the label plan including : air conditioning, ballast, lamps and lanterns, engine, residential and commercial refrigerators, electric water heater . On February 10, 2010, Colombian Ministry of Mines and Energy has issued notification G/TBT/N/COL/143, notice the draft resolution that some electrical and gas equipmenon sale in Colombia or outport should reasonably use energy label technical regulations . The draft regulations covering air conditioners, home or commercial refrigeration and / or freezer, electromagnetic and electronic lighting ballasts, single-phase and three-phase squirrel-cage induction motor (60 Hz), household electric washing machines, electric storage water heaters, storage gas water heater, domestic gas cooking appliances (freestanding stove and a built-in table with bench oven, desktop cooker, freestanding oven, built-in ovens, freestanding grill, built-in grill , bakeware, freestanding cookers and built-in cooker). | |||
