| Label Description | Energy efficiency label is divided into two kinds, one kind of special for household appliances use red logo for PROCEL (smile) logo, another for household gas equipment use blue logo, called CONPET logo. | |||
| Implementation Background | PROCEL (smiles) is a certification mark, from the presidential decree issued in 1993. The mark means that electrical equipment achieved the best level of energy efficiency while less energy consumption. The logo is part of PBE, has been awarded annually to the energy efficiency rating of electrical products and meet the statutory requirements. According to the national energy policy and the rational use of energy law (Law No. 10.295-2001) requirements, PROCEL certification program began to shift to a voluntary labeling compulsory certification. From the beginning of 2008 July, all sales in the territory of Brazil shall be affixed to the TV standby energy efficiency marks. The CONPET logo came into force in August 2005, the oil and gas identification guide consumers to buy the lowest fuel consumption products. The identification of the state plan submitted to the rational use of energy (CONPET) "will be issued after the latest year.
