Label Description Mexico energy efficiency label contains the following content: (1) tag name (energy efficiency label should be in a prominent position, ensure the refrigerator using new technology to save energy and save electricity);
(2) to measure the value of energy efficiency, such as power consumption (kWh).
(3) efficiency requirements for reference by the Mexican authorities (NOM) : the refrigerator of the reference standard for Mexico's national energy saving committee (CONUEE) draft NOM - 015 - ENER - 2002 "the cooler and cooler efficiency limit, test method and labels.
(4) brand (Friotek), the product type (refrigerator), product model (r - 95 A), and the general characteristics of the product (this case, the storage capacity of 425 dm3, operation mode for automatic);
(5) energy consumption limits (659 kWh/y), standard NOM - 015 - ENER - 2002 refrigerator energy consumption of the largest value of 659 kWh/y;
(6)testing laboratory approved by the measured average energy consumption value (560 kWh/y), the value must be less than or equal to the maximum value of energy consumption;
(7)electricity saving rate compared with maximum limit energy consumption  : the refrigerator power saving rate is 15%;
(8)Consumers to purchase products factors to consider: when consumers buy refrigerators must rely on the yellow standard for comparison of energy consumption, to ensure that the purchase of energy efficient, low energy consumption of the refrigerator.
Implementation Background Mexico first adopted energy efficiency standards in 1995 under the National Commission for Energy Saving (CONAE). In 1995, Mexico also introduced the Sello FIDE, a voluntary energy efficiency endorsement label awarded by the Fideicomiso parael Ahorro de Energía Eléctrica (FIDE). In 2008, the Law for Sustainable Use of Energy transferred authority for energy efficiency standards from CONAE to the just-created National Commission for Energy Efficiency (CONUEE). CONUEE has established energy efficiency standards for a total of 15 product categories and seven system categories. CONUEE also regulates a mandatory comparative energy label for domestic appliances.Development of standards includes both the minimum energy performance levels (MEPS) required and the test procedure for determining the equipment performance. CONUEE is in charge of verifying compliance. Products that require mandatory comparative labels are rated as part of the MEPS process, and the labels for these products show the products’ efficiency levels in comparison to the MEPS level.
